Wedding Songs

September 2nd, 2010

Your song selection may also be the same as your wedding jewelry since you will have to be meticulous about your song choices. Your song selection should have your most preferred choices and the songs that you will use for your first dance and the songs that you will use to dance the night away.

This is needed especially when you do not have any intention of hiring a DJ for the event. Use your iPod and ask a friend or relative to control your music for the reception. Ask someone who is knowledgeable enough on how to be a wedding DJ even if he is only going to play the songs for you.

Ask this person to also not let anyone, but him to play your wedding songs since he knows better on how to play them. Some situations may arise when another person takes hold of your song list and just plays the songs he most preferred thus ruining your song selection. But since only one person will control your wedding songs and you have already discussed with that person how he would be playing your songs, then it won’t be much of a problem.

Wedding Leftovers

August 31st, 2010

The leftovers at your wedding may not be as big of a deal as your wedding jewelry, but you will also need to take care of it. Do not worry taking care of the leftovers is not difficult. If you are not interested in taking them or even distributing it to your family, then a better and a great alternative is to just donate it to one of the shelters near your place.

You can coordinate with your caterer and ask them to just give the remaining food of your wedding to those who most need it. Donating the rest of the food is also a great way to start your wedding as it will be like sharing your beautiful wedding to the rest of those who cannot attend. And even if you are not there to see how they appreciate your small donation, it would still feel like you have made a lot of people happy.

The Wedding Complex

August 31st, 2010

Brides do really aim to have the perfect wedding. They will mostly search for the right dress and the right wedding jewelry, but sometimes they may even go overboard. Some brides without even considering will choose items that are not even needed for the wedding.

Some may consider purchasing their own personalized cake server sets as one of their wedding complex. There is nothing wrong wanting to have some cute pictures while holding these cake servers. The problem though is that, that will be its final hour. After the wedding is done, they won’t even need it anymore. The only use for these cake server sets is to have your photographer take pictures of them and that is it.

Another consideration that brides should mostly think about is asking their bridesmaids to wear a particular type of dress that they will also not need anymore. Letting them spend a lot of money for a dress they will just wear once. That is why some bridesmaids are even reluctant to become one because they know how much the expenses of being a bridesmaid can have.

Why not let bridesmaids wear something they can use after and let them choose on their own. This way, you wont be getting much complains from them.

Finding the Engagement Ring

August 28th, 2010

Your engagement ring can be the first wedding jewelry your fiancé will wear, so how would you be able to prepare this without ruining the surprise of your intentions. Of course you would want to surprise her and to just give her the ring with an expecting answer that she would say “yes” in the end.

As you may know, the most preferred engagement ring by most is diamond. Probably because of its clarity and its value that most think it is the shiniest of all jewelry. You can also prefer this if you want, but there are still other options that you can go for especially if you are tight on the budget.

But still, if you prefer to find her a diamond ring, then you can also find her one even if you are tight on the budget. All you need to do is research a bit and find the ring that best suits her. And if you do find the right one, you may probably be expecting to do the next 12 months planning for the wedding.

Other Costs at a Wedding You May not Think About

August 19th, 2010

It is known that weddings can be expensive. A common budget for a wedding can go to $20,000 and this does not include the other hidden costs a wedding may bring. Do realize that beside from your budget, you will be expected to prepare for the other costs of the wedding.

This can be with the alterations for the dress and your wedding jewelry, the delivery of your wedding cake at the reception site, and the delivery of your flowers by your florists. You should also include the tips for your vendors and the corkage and overtime fees.

You may think that these costs may not be that big, but if you are going to calculate them, this could also add to your looming wedding expenses. You will need to know how much is appropriate as tips and how much you will spend for the delivery charges.

Wedding Invitation

August 13th, 2010

To be able to get the right invitation, determine first the theme of the wedding. You have eight months to plan this so better make sure that your invitation and the theme are connected. Your wedding invitation can have the images of your wedding jewelry, the color that you will use for the wedding and even the flowers that you will use for the wedding.

You can include the scent of certain flowers you will use or you can also include the color of your bridesmaid dresses. Those who make wedding invitations mostly customize invitations so you can make your own arrangement and even design.

But do keep in mind to be careful with your choices. Do not choose a style of a wedding invitation just because they are cute. Don’t pick a wedding invitation with pink roses on it if your motif is not even pink and you are not even going to use roses as your decoration and even in your bouquet. Look for some connection between your invitation and your theme to make it really match.

Preparing for Emergencies

August 12th, 2010

You may want to have a wedding that is perfect, but at times when you least expect it, things may go wrong even with your wedding dress. You may find yourself preparing yourself on your big day and finally wearing your wedding dress and wedding jewelry when all of a sudden, the dress got ripped. What are you going to do when that happens?

To prepare you for some wedding emergencies, prepare a lot of threads and of course your needle inside your bridal kit. Your thread should be the same as with the color of your dress. Also, it would be safer if you could prepare for bustle failure and stains.

When it comes to preparing for stains, have a tide pen, shout wipes, baby powder or chalk to cover possible stains that could happen to your dress. When it comes to bustle failure, better avoid it at the beginning of your fitting by always bringing the right height of shoes so that your dress can be measured accordingly.

There are still different types of wedding emergencies that you may consider and it is always important to prepare for them.

The Meticulous Planning of a Wedding Gown

August 9th, 2010

The meticulous planning of a wedding gown is not easy since so many details are always taken into consideration. But do you know that back in the days when fabrics were all hand spun, woven and dyed that only the rich and the royals were the only class that could wear creative design of wedding gowns and literally expensive wedding jewelry.

A princess getting married to another royal mostly wear expensive and extensive colors of red, purple, and true black-dyes. White was not the common color for wedding gowns at that time. Their wedding gowns were mostly long and the bride would literally glitter because the gown was commonly sewn with precious gems of diamonds, pearls, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds.

The upper middle class and lower middle class will also imitate those royalties by copying the style of their wedding gowns by using silk fabrics and using a much affordable gem. Then, they would use fox fur or rabbit fur to impress their guests.

Just like those days, brides are also getting their trend through popular wedding designers and possibly owning one. The good side though, is that we are not limited to just copying or purchasing from expensive designers since there are so many styles to choose from. A bride can purchase from a not so popular designer, but would still look good at her wedding. No need to kill any fox or rabbit just to impress guests.
