There are different wedding gowns and bridal necklaces that should match each other for the wedding.
1. V-necked gown and a Y-drop necklace
2. Traditional square top wedding dress and a simple single or double strand bridal necklace
3. Strapless gown and any type of bridal necklace you want
4. Scoop-necked gown and a multi-stranded necklace
5. Halter-top gown and a dangled-back or lariat necklace or a Y-drop necklace
6. Sweetheart wedding gown and a Y-drop necklace
Keep in mind that wearing the right bridal necklace is important as this will be the first accessory your guest will see as you walk down the aisle.

Ancient Egyptians were known to wear and make different beads of necklaces to some complicated patterns that were so common in their style. They were made of compliment both sexes, but there was a rule not to wear excessive jewelry since the only people who can wear too much is the royal family and some of their close friends.
During the Classical Greek period from about 480 to 300 B.C, most necklaces had three dimensional pendants. They were mostly found in the form of beads, seeds or acorns. They were commonly suspended from a row of flat elements that are some type of rosettes.
Today however, necklaces are still in demand. They are usually used as a daily wear, and for special occasions like weddings, anniversaries and the like. Bridal necklaces are an important type of necklace for the wedding since this mostly completes and render the necessary impact that brides want to showcase their friends and family.
