About Wedding Gowns

July 27th, 2010

Did you know that during the olden times, princesses who were going to get married to a prince wore really expensive wedding gowns with colors such as red, purple, and even true black-dyes. White wedding gowns were not common during those days. Then their gowns were made so long and it would literally glitter, not because of the bride’s wedding jewelry, but because the gown had precious gems such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and pearls sewn on it.

The not so rich class, who often imitate their royalties would also find means to have their wedding gowns sewn with gems of lesser value and they will use fox fur or rabbit fur to impress their guests.

Nowadays, we really have gone a long way from imitating royalties and embedding precious stones on our wedding dress. Although similar styles are still being done such as embedding Swarovski crystals and pearls on the dress, but we do not use rabbit fur for the dress, thankfully!
