If you are getting married and you are looking forward to seeing your grandmother and showing her how much she means to you, you will find that one of the best ways that you can do this is to give her a gift! Many brides feel very close to their grandmothers, whether they have good memories of them as children or whether your grandmother is someone who has always supported you.
Take some time to see what a great gift for her would be. If your grandmother is ill or simply cannot travel, you will find that a gift can be a perfect way to let her know that she is in your mind and in your heart.
Think about what sort of collections that your grandmother has and what she would love to receive. For instance, if your grandmother is someone who collects shells and you happen to be having a destination wedding, scouting the area for local shells is a great way to let her know that you were thinking of her. Take some time to do a little bit of shopping with her in mind, and remember that just because you don’t have a similar taste doesn’t mean that you can’t get her a gift that she will love and treasure.
Even when you are celebrating a wedding and ringing in a new part of your life, you will find that it is quite important not to forget the people who got you to where you are today. Remember that choosing a great gift for your grandmother give her something that she will treasure for years.

A winter wedding cake is the ideal way to showcase the seasonal themes and spotlight this stunning star of the reception. The cake choices at this time of the year can be richer tasting and have more depth than summer cakes. Many brides and caterers consider a few more choices in flavors for the wedding cake. Some winter favorites include dark chocolate cake, red velvet, or even a spectacular spice cake.
You can even choose a real cheesecake as the lower tier and have it constructed of multiple cheese sections. Not only is this a delicious and popular choice, the cutting of these cheesecake layers will offer surprises for your guests with their different flavors and appearances. The cooler weather of the winter season makes it possible to include selections such as cheesecakes and many different types of icing which do not fare as well in the heat of the summer months.
The icings and decorations for your winter wedding cakes can pull inspiration from the many signs and symbols of this time of year. A white winter cake is beautiful, but a cake decorated with the colorful hues of autumn or the blues, silver, or gold of winter can be just as stunning. Reds and greens are another extremely good choice for wedding cakes during the winter holiday season. Popular decorating ideas include a wedding cake decorated as a stack of elaborately decorated gift boxes and creating a cake that appears to be decorated with snowflakes and tiny icicles.
White beads on a white cake present the bridal couple with a monochromatic color scheme that is both lovely and elegant. Winter brides can even select a wedding cake that has wintertime scenes decorating each layer. One cake layer might have pine trees and an outdoor scene that wraps around the circumference, the next layer could have holly berries and green leaves, and the third layer perhaps has a scene involves a sleigh riding couple. Since wedding cakes today come in every shape, size, and color, your imagination is your guide.

Planning a wedding can be extremely hectic; it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to tell you that. Not only will planning a wedding be very hectic, but it can also be insanely stressful for both the bride and groom to be. This time of wedding planning can be crucial for a couple, for there are sure to be disagreements along the way.
Therefore, it is important to reconnect with your significant other before your wedding. Although most couples only plan for a vacation for their honeymoon after their wedding, it would also be wise to plan a getaway before your wedding as well.
Pre-wedding getaways can be very beneficial for you and your soon-to-be spouse. As previously mentioned, wedding planning can be highly stressful. This pre-wedding vacation will allow you to escape from the stress for a bit and put all wedding planning ideas and thoughts aside, giving you and your partner the opportunity to sit back and relax, enjoying each other’s company. Not only will this pre-wedding getaway allow you and your partner to de-stress and reconnect, but it will strengthen the bond between the two of you.
When planning your pre-wedding getaway, you want to plan something romantic. You could even think of this getaway as a prelude to your honeymoon. Choose a place to go that will be significant to both you and your partner. If you both like beaches, go to somewhere like Florida or Hawaii. If you enjoy the wilderness and would like to stay somewhere in a cabin, try for a place like Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Wherever you go, make sure that it is a place that you and your partner will both enjoy.

As you are planning your wedding day, one thing you’ll want to think about is your entrance. After all, the entrance of the bride is a very special part of any ceremony. No doubt you will want to make the entrance a grand and unique one. You will be the main attraction and there are many different ideas that you can use to make that grand entrance on your wedding day. Here are a few excellent ideas that you may want to consider.
First of all, if you are all about tradition and elegance, a traditional entrance may be the right choice for you. It’s traditional for the bride and her father to make a stately walk down the aisle of the church or other building to meet the groom at the front. Usually there is some kind of stately music playing during this walk, and it is done slowly so the guests can all get a great look at the bride in all her splendor. For a traditional wedding, this is a wonderful idea that is very beautiful, stately, and elegant.
If your idea of a wedding is a fairy tale wedding, then consider showing up to meet your Prince Charming in your own carriage drawn by beautiful horses. This is an exciting and lovely way to show up for your wedding. It’s especially wonderful for outdoor weddings where everyone can see the bride as she arrives and alights from the carriage.
There are, of course, many other exotic and unique ways to make your entrance at your wedding. Borrow one from another culture, or feel free to invent your own special entrance. Whichever you choose, all eyes will be upon the bride as she makes her appearance at the wedding ceremony.

When you have been asked to giving a wedding toast, you may be honored… and scared out of your mind! There is a lot that you have to think about when you are preparing a wedding toast, and you will find that when you do so, there are plenty of sources that can help you.
In the first place, remember a few basics. It does not need to be long, and as a matter of fact, most people will probably be happy if it is shorter. You only really need to include a few basic things: your relationship to the happy couple, a cute anecdote about them, and your best wishes for the future.
Take some time and make sure that you think about what you can do to memorize it; you will find that it will tend to go much more smoothly if you can make eye contact with your audience and avoid speaking into notecards or a sheet of paper. Also keep in mind that you should tailor your speech to the most conservative person in the room; your speech should be fit to hear by anyone!
With those basic guidelines in mind, you will find that there is plenty of inspiration all around for your wedding toast. Make sure that you keep it personal. While you might always be interested in quoting poetry, you will find that the more personal you can make it, the more people will enjoy it. Make sure that you do not make jokes that no one in the audience will really get, and think about what you can do to make your entire speech accessible to the audience.

One of the most overwhelming undertakings for many couples is planning a wedding. Combine that with the holidays, and you may be left scratching your head once it’s all over about where the fun went. Don’t let this happen! Make it a point to find something to do with your fiance over the holiday season that will make warm memories for you instead of a whirlwind of stress. This is the time for you to start new traditions with each other.
If possible, take time to get away for a private weekend. Going right after the holidays gives you something to look forward to. There is nothing quite like sitting in front of a fireplace with no technology to interfere. Pick something both of you like - go skiing, or if you want to get away from the cold, do a short cruise. The diversion will be good if you can take a few full days of relaxing after the holidays and before getting back into planning full time for the upcoming wedding.
Since you are sharing the beginning of a new life together, take this time to start new traditions together. Perhaps you can host a Christmas party that will become a tradition for your married identity. If that is more than you want to tackle, pick something easy that you will love doing year after year.
Maybe you have always wanted to cut down a Christmas tree. Adopt a Christmas Tree Angel and go shopping together for the gifts. Your tradition will be exclusive to you as a couple, and should be something that you enjoy together.

Many wedding customs from around the world have endured for centuries. Some of these are quite beautiful and exotic and the modern brides often find them a delightful addition to her wedding. Some have changed or been modified through the years.
The common custom of wearing something blue is actually from ancient Israel. In the Old Testament, Numbers 15:38 it notes that God spoke to the children of Israel and told them to put fringe on their garments and a ribbon of blue to remember his commandments. Throughout the centuries, this was changed and re-interpreted and today, many brides carry something old, something new, something borrowed….and something blue.
There are other beautiful additions to weddings from several cultures. A Bermuda custom is one that is particularly lovely. The couple has a small sapling placed on top of the wedding cake. The couple removes the sapling from the cake and friends save it until they move into their new home. Then the bride and groom plant the tree. As the tree grows, so does their bond.
Norwegians plant two small fir trees outside the front door of the couple’s house to represent their future children. Their lovely traditions give the bride and groom a keepsake for years to come. Today there are many places that sell “trees in a box” to pass out as favors to the guest. These would be a nice complement if you chose to follow the tradition.

If you’ve got a bride to be on your Christmas list, you’ll find that one thing that can make her happy come Christmas morning is seeing a gift with something shiny and sparkling in the wrapping paper. For a woman who is going to be heading into a very exciting time, you will find that you can help remind her of the happiness that is to come with the gift of jewelry. When you are looking to give the bride to be jewelry, you’ll find that there are a few different angles that you can take, and it all revolves around what you know the bride needs.
In the first place, when people are thinking about giving a bride that they know jewelry, they automatically think of the jewelry that she is going to wear on her wedding day. On the other hand, there is a good chance that she has already picked out jewelry, so make sure that you ask. While some people prefer their Christmas gifts be a surprise, you will find that showing up to take her jewelry shopping is often a surprise enough! Think about what you can do to make sure that she gets the jewelry that she wants.
Of course, if you love the idea of giving her something that she can open on Christmas day, remember that she needs jewelry for other occasions too. For instance, where is she going to go for her honeymoon? If the answer is somewhere warm and tropical, you will find that she needs an entirely different set of beach jewelry from the kind that she wore walking down the aisle. Think about something fun and casual, like a bracelet or an anklet, or even a slender dangling pendant. This is something that is perfect when you want to send her off for a great trip.
